About the performance

The bridge between principles and practicality is called survival. If in theatre we always use stories to be able to talk about the world, and we play characters to be able to speak about human nature and pretend that a table is a table, then we wanted a reverse principle. As we cannot speak with any certainty and artistic integrity about anything else but ourselves, our position, our principles and nonprinciples – all the rest are moralistic discourses or tearful excuses and consciousness cleaning – the very characteristics that an artist should not possess may sprout between practicality and principles: narrow-mindedness, fascism, sexism, narcissism, misanthropy ... These little perversions show that we’re not exempt, although we pretend to be. At the end we have to admit to ourselves that we cannot do otherwise, that I cannot do otherwise. Ich kann nicht anders.

And this dual position is more than perverse.
