About the performance
In her significantly adapted version of the drama Hurrah, Nosferatu!, the director offers an insight into the everyday life of a family with a gravely ill child. Everybody around the little Vida, who suffers from Dravet Syndrome – a stubborn, life-threatening form of epilepsy accompanied by developmental difficulties – has lived for many years knowing that the little girl could die any moment. When this does happen, their world shatters and pushes them into a vortex of memories of the events in which they strove to develop the belief, essential for their survival, that they were in fact a perfectly normal family, they just had certain problems. Skubic’s original focuses primarily on the destructive feeling of guilt after the loss of a child, while Dubravka Crnojević-Carić’s staging is more a psychological portrait of a child with limited opportunities in life.
